Our Anaphylaxis and EpiPen Training course provides essential knowledge and practical skills to recognise and respond quickly to severe allergic reactions.

Ideal for workplaces, schools, childcare settings, and individuals, this course focuses on early identification of anaphylaxis and the safe, effective use of adrenaline auto-injectors (EpiPens).

Through clear guidance and hands-on practice, participants will gain the confidence to act in a life-threatening emergency, potentially saving a life before emergency services arrive.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand what anaphylaxis is and how it affects the body

  • Identify common allergens (foods, insect stings, medications, etc.)

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of mild allergic reactions vs severe anaphylaxis

  • Understand risk factors and prevention strategies

Recognising Anaphylaxis:

  • Breathing difficulties and airway swelling

  • Skin reactions (hives, flushing, swelling)

  • Gastrointestinal symptoms

  • Sudden collapse or loss of consciousness

Emergency Response:

  • Assessing the situation quickly and safely

  • Calling emergency services promptly

  • Positioning the casualty correctly

  • Monitoring and reassuring the casualty

EpiPen & Auto-Injector Use:

  • What an adrenaline auto-injector is and how it works

  • When to use an EpiPen

  • Step-by-step safe administration

  • Use of different devices (e.g. EpiPen, Jext, Emerade)

  • Managing a second dose if required

Aftercare:

  • Ongoing monitoring until help arrives

  • Handover to emergency services

  • Recording the incident

  • Storage and maintenance of auto-injectors

  • Legal considerations and duty of care

  • Individual healthcare plans (schools/workplaces)

Practical Training:
