Participants will learn how to:
Understand the role of a workplace first aider
Comply with health and safety regulations and responsibilities
Assess incidents quickly and safely
Conduct a Primary Survey (DRSABCD approach)
Perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Place a casualty in the recovery position
Workplace Injuries:
Control bleeding (including severe bleeding)
Treat burns, scalds, and chemical injuries
Manage fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains
Treat eye injuries
Manage crush injuries
Medical Emergencies:
Recognise and respond to heart attacks
Identify signs of stroke
Manage seizures (epilepsy)
Respond to asthma attacks
Treat allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
Manage diabetic emergencies
Environmental & Workplace-Specific Conditions:
Heat exhaustion and heatstroke
Hypothermia
Fainting and shock
Poisoning
