Our First Aid at Work training course is designed to meet workplace health and safety requirements while equipping participants with the practical skills and confidence to respond effectively to a wide range of emergencies.

Ideal for employers, designated first aiders, and teams across all industries, this comprehensive course combines theory with hands-on practice to ensure learners can assess incidents, provide immediate care, and support casualties until emergency services arrive.

Delivered by qualified instructors, the course promotes a proactive safety culture and helps organisations meet their legal obligations while safeguarding the wellbeing of their staff.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the role of a workplace first aider

  • Comply with health and safety regulations and responsibilities

  • Assess incidents quickly and safely

  • Conduct a Primary Survey (DRSABCD approach)

  • Perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

  • Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

  • Place a casualty in the recovery position

Workplace Injuries:

  • Control bleeding (including severe bleeding)

  • Treat burns, scalds, and chemical injuries

  • Manage fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains

  • Treat eye injuries

  • Manage crush injuries

Medical Emergencies:

  • Recognise and respond to heart attacks

  • Identify signs of stroke

  • Manage seizures (epilepsy)

  • Respond to asthma attacks

  • Treat allergic reactions and anaphylaxis

  • Manage diabetic emergencies

Environmental & Workplace-Specific Conditions:

  • Heat exhaustion and heatstroke

  • Hypothermia

  • Fainting and shock

  • Poisoning

Additional Topics:

  • Infection prevention and control

  • First aid equipment and workplace kits

  • Incident recording and reporting (including accident books)

  • Handover to emergency services

Practical Training:

  • Hands-on CPR and AED use

  • Bandaging and injury management

  • Scenario-based workplace emergencies
