Our Paediatric First Aid course is designed to give parents, carers, and childcare professionals the essential skills and confidence to respond to emergencies involving infants and children.

Fully aligned with current guidelines, this course focuses on age-specific techniques and practical, hands-on learning to ensure participants can act quickly and effectively in a wide range of situations.

Whether you work in early years settings or simply want to protect the children in your care, this training provides the knowledge and reassurance needed to handle emergencies calmly and competently.

Participants will learn how to:

• Understand the role of a paediatric first aider

• Assess emergency situations involving infants and children

• Conduct a Primary Survey (DRSABCD approach adapted for children)

• Perform infant and child CPR

• Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) on children

• Place a baby or child in the recovery position

Common Injuries in Children:

• Managing bleeding and minor injuries

• Treating burns and scalds

• Managing head injuries

• Dealing with fractures, sprains, and strains

Paediatric Medical Emergencies:

• Choking (infants and children)

• Asthma attacks

• Allergic reactions and anaphylaxis

• Febrile seizures

• Meningitis awareness

• Croup and breathing difficulties

Child-Specific Conditions:

• Fever management

• Dehydration

• Shock in children

Environmental & Household Risks:

• Poisoning and ingestion incidents

• Bites and stings

• Near drowning

Additional Topics:

• Infection control and hygiene

• First aid kits for childcare settings

• Recording and reporting incidents (EYFS requirements where applicable)

Practical Training:
