This practical, hands-on course focuses on delivering high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), giving learners the confidence to act decisively in life-threatening situations.

Participants will learn how to:
Understand the importance of early CPR and defibrillation
Recognise cardiac arrest and unresponsiveness
Assess an emergency situation safely (DRSABCD approach)
Call for help and communicate effectively with emergency services
CPR Skills:
Perform adult CPR (chest compressions and rescue breaths)
Understand compression depth, rate, and technique
Modify CPR for children and infants (overview or practical depending on course level)
AED (Defibrillator) Use:
What an AED is and how it works
When and why to use an AED
Step-by-step safe operation of an AED
Following voice prompts and safety considerations
Managing the Casualty:
Recovery position (if breathing returns)
